If you're really passionate about black powder shooting, Mud Creek Shop is a must-see stop in northern Montana. Our love of muzzleloaders is evident in everything we sell. And we offer you services that you just won't find anywhere else.
We're one of the few shops left that carries real black powder, and we have it in every granulation you can imagine. When it comes to accessories, you don't need to look any further. We have powderhorns, balls, patches, caps, cappers, wedge pullers, powder measures, ramrods, flasks, possibles bags...in short, every accessory you'll need for the sport.
We also offer our customers something truly unique: a nine-position, 27-shot black powder rendevous course. Set in a beautiful wooded location with the mountains as a backstop, the course features targets from 15 yards out to 200 yards. There are targets for muskets, pistols and tomahawks. If you've never shot a rendevous course before, you're certain to find it an exciting experience. What's more, we offer this course to our customers on a donation basis.
If you don't yet own a muzzleloader, or just want to pick up something different, you'll be pleased with our selection of new and used rifles and pistols from manufacturers such as CVA, Traditions, and Lyman, including left-handed models. Of course, we stock some centerfire guns, too, including models from Taurus. And we're always happy to order in any gun you want.
In addition to our rendevous course, we offer our customers an outdoor rifle range as well as a combat pistol range. The rifle range has backstops at 25, 50 and 100 yards. The pistol range features steel targets. Just as with our rendevous range, our customers can shoot on the pistol and rifle ranges on a voluntary donation basis.
We also offer you a level of gunsmithing expertise you simply won't find in this part of the state. We do trigger jobs on 1911's and revolvers. For your rifles, we'll do rechambering, rebarrelling, install liners, drill and tap for scope mounts, install your scopes, and more. What's more, we build one-of-a-kind customized rifles based on Mauser actions that are incredibly accurate. And, as you might expect, we do a full range of work on virtually any muzzleloader you have.

Part of the enjoyment of visiting Mud Creek is the scenic drive along US Highway 93. Take Highway 93 to mile marker 172. Look for the large log-frame sign with a ten-foot long Model 94 Winchester on it on the east side of the highway, and follow the drive up to our shop. We'll be waiting to greet you!
