For those who are passionate about traditional black powder shooting, Two Knives Trading Company is the place to be. We specialize in flintlocks, caplocks, and other traditional muzzleloading guns. What's more, with more than twenty years experience in the sport, we're able to help both the novice as well as seasoned shooters pick the accessories and guns that best fit their needs.
Our whole goal is to "keep it real." We're one of very few gun stores in the country that sell real black powder, an essential if you want consistent ignition with your flintlocks. Our inventory of black powder accessories includes items that you just won't find at the local "mega-mart." We have hand-knapped English flints in sizes for the smallest pistol locks up through the large locks of the Northwest Trade Guns. For the traditionalist, we carry casting molds and pots, along with the lead you'll need for casting. We also have round ball, from .32 caliber all the way up to .75 caliber "Brown Bess." Whether you're looking for nipples, sabots, flint cleaning kits, flint hammers, pan primers, vent picks, possibles bags, powder horns, or any other black powder accessory, we either have it or can get it quickly. We also try to keep a few shirts and trousers on hand to dress you properly for the next rendezvous.
We stock a fine variety of new and used muzzleloaders from several quality manufacturers. For the cowboy action shooter we offer what we believe is the best, Cimarron Fire Arms Company. Or, if you desire Ruger and Marlin, we can set you up with all the S.A.S.S. fire power that you will need. And, if we don't have the exact model you want in stock, we're always more than happy to special order the one you want, and usually get it within a day or two.
We're here to serve you from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. We are closed Christmas, Thanksgiving Day, My wifes birthday, and deer season. To get to Two Knives Trading Company, from the South take US 131 into Petoskey. Continue on US 131 which is also called West Mitchell. After crossing the Bear River you will turn right on to Mitchell Street which is the main downtown street. At the third light after crossing the Bear River, you will turn right on to Howard Street. Proceed on Howard one block to Michigan Street. Turn left on Michigan and we are the third building on your left, across the street from the St. Francis school.
