WHISTLING PINES GUN CLUB
The Whistling Pines Gun Club is the safest, cleanest, most family-oriented indoor shooting range in Colorado. The retail, training, and gunsmithing portions of the club are open to the public; use of the range is reserved for members, guests, and students enrolled in Whistling Pines Gun Club classes. Children are always welcome to shoot, proving they are tall enough to see over the shooting benches and are properly supervised.
Club members enjoy discounts on everything in the retail area, including firearms, ammunition, accessories, classes, and concealed carry clothing. If you don’t already have your Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit, you’re cordially invited to sign up for the NRA First Steps and/or selected other courses that satisfy the training requirement. Over 60 handguns, rifles, and shotguns in a wide variety of calibers and gauges, many with accessories, are available for rent by members, guests, and students. Rent three guns for $10, or as many as you’d like for $15.
The clubhouse is the most luxurious you’ve ever seen. Members and guests are invited to relax in the spacious lounge to read magazines, watch TV, log onto the club’s wireless high speed network, score targets, and simply shoot the breeze. Enjoy a cup of espresso or a soft drink. The classrooms are comfortable, clean, and well lit.
Although the club does not stock a large inventory of guns, the gunsmiths are always glad to order them, often for overnight delivery, from manufacturers such as Smith & Wesson, Springfield Armory, Olympic Arms, Colt, Century International Arms, Hi-Point, Armalite, Kahr, Cimarron, Winchester, Glock, Thompson-Center, SIG, Bushmaster, Browning, Howa, Taurus, Marlin, Remington, New England Firearms, Mossberg, Bond Arms, Ruger, Sigarms, Beretta, Heckler and Koch, Savage, Henry, Kel-Tec, Bersa, Para Ordance, Walther, Weatherby, CZ, Bersa, Uberti, Charter Arms, North American Arms, and many more. Ammunition choices include CCI, Remington, Aguila, Hornady, Federal, Winchester, Glaser, Magtech, Sellier & Bellot, HSC, and more. Accessories, books, video, and concealed carry clothing choices include the best offerings from SureFire, Benchmade, Hogue, SIG, Coronado Leather, Winchester, 511, Smith & Wesson, Fobus, Premier, eGear, and many more.
The new $2.5 million, 12,500 square foot facility’s ultra-modern air handling and filtration system exceeds OSHA regirements. It transports every molecule of air from intake to exhaust within 90 seconds, so there is no lead dust in the air at the ten shooting positions. The backstops at the far end of the 25-yard range safely handle every handgun caliber ever invented, every shotgun gauge, and all rifle calibers through .460 Weatherby Magnum. The shooting positions are armored above; glass dividing panels are bullet-proof through .44 magnum. The shooting positions are monitored by closed circuit TV; in addition, all the staff members are gunsmiths and/or instructors and/or range officers and/or competitive shooters. Clear, sensible, comprehensive safety rules are posted both in the clubhouse and on the web site. The range hosts regular IPSC matches, and offers an extensive variety of both traditional target shooting and tactical courses and events.
Two full time professional gunsmiths and part time armorers restore old pistols, shotguns, and rifles to life, customize guns, and enjoy amazing people with their quick turn around time and highly competitive rates.

Drive east on Platte Avenue past Powers, Peterson, and Highway 94. Turn north (left) on Marksheffel. Turn west (left) on Meadowbrook, which is the first intersection north of Highway 24. Drive to the end of Meadowbrook, then turn south (left) on Woolsey Heights. The Whistling Pines Gun Club is the large light tan building. Enter the parking lot from Woolsey Heights. Prepare to be amazed.
