REMINGTON MODEL 597 17 HMR
The family of Model 597 rifles, when introduced in 1997, revolutionized rimfire technology with an innovative bolt guidance system, featuring a unique set of twin tool-steel guide rails. This design results in better stability, feeding reliability and superior accuracy. And for smooth, dependable operation, the bolt, hammer and sear are coated with a Teflon®/nickel plating. Model 597 MAGNUM rimfire rifles feature a dual-stacked eight round capacity, die cast metal magazine with a last shot "hold open" design. This newly designed, lightweight Magnesium-based alloy metal magnum magazine clip will also be offered in the Remington accessories line for 2003. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts and the Model 597 MAGNUM comes with a Weaver-style scope rail. Featuring a sturdy, matte black synthetic stock with swivel studs and 20-inch sporter contour barrel with satin blued finish, the Model 597 MAGNUM Synthetic autoloading rimfire is designed for the rigors of high-volume shooting. The clean barrel is button rifled with a twist rate of one turn in 9 inches with six lands and grooves. Click here to visit Gunshopfinder's Remington page.
