SIG SAUER 202 STANDARD RIFLE

Established in the famed Suhl region of Germany in 1751, J.P. Sauer & Sohn ranks as one of the world's oldest and most esteemed firearms manufacturers. First in sporting rifles and shotguns, then in military firearms, and again in pistols, Sauer earned a well-deserved reputation for precision, accuracy, and reliability - a reputation that is confirmed again in the new Sauer 202 rifles.

One of the world's oldest traditions in hunting rifles meets the modern materials and engineering revolution in the Sauer 202 Series bolt action rifles. Recognized for over a century for reliability and accuracy, Sauer firmly asserts its leadership in hunting rifles with the expanded 202 line.

A host of engineering and construction features ensure performance you can count on year after year, from the precision machined steel receiver and bolt to the quick-change barrel system. Every time you step into the field, you'll appreciate the short 60º bolt throw, the ingenious silent safety and handy detachable box magazine.

Sauer 202 Rifle Series:
The Sauer 202 series is a bolt-action repeating rifle of modular design allowing the customer to easily replace individual components and convert calibers. Clamp screws connect the barrel and the receiver and the trigger assembly is built into the receiver as a separate module. The main stock and the forend are connected to this "self-supporting" unit without having any supporting function themselves. The results are better accuracy because any natural warping of wood stocks cannot influence it. The bolt locks up directly into the barrel leaving the receiver as an unstressed part.

The safety is an integral part of the trigger assembly and consists of two pressure pins separated from each other. The safety release pin is situated in front of the trigger and can be easily felt and seen. If the safety is released a red signal ring becomes visible. The safety is extremely quiet.

The ergonomically shaped stock with its hand-cut checkering affords a safe grip. The main buttstock can be quickly unscrewed with the key provided so that the Sauer 202 can be conveniently transported in a carrying case. The forend can be unfastened with the same key.

The Sauer 202 Standard is a classic and durable hunting rifle combining timeless traditional gun making with innovative features.
