SMITH AND WESSON MODEL 317 AIRLIGHT REVOLVER

The Smith and Wesson model 317 Airlight revolver is one of the company's ultra light J frame revolvers, designed for comfortable and compact carry. Weighing just 10.5 ounces, it's not much heavier than a cell phone but, in an emergency, gets you protection faster than a cell phone.

The 317 Airlight is chambered in .22 LR, and the cylinder holds eight rounds. A .22 is on the very low end of the defensive pistol power range, but it will incapacitate an attacker if the shots are well-placed.

The sights are very low profile, with a serrated ramp front sight and fixed notch in the rear. The hammer is a shortened bodyguard style, meant to be as snag-free as possible when carried in your pocket.

The grips are Uncle Mike's Boot Grips, whcih are a soft and extremely comfortable style.

The frame is made from aluminum alloy, and the cylinder and barrel are stainless steel. The entire revolver is then finished with Clear Cote™ to protect the finish from scratches and wear.
