The Springfield Armory M6 Scout Carbine is an updated and improved version of the US Air Force M6 survival rifle. Compact and light weight, it will fit into a backpack or roll pack for hiking or camping.

Springfield Armory no longer makes the M6 Scout Carbine, but they can be found used or as new in box if you look hard enough. They've become something of a collector's item, though, so be prepared to pay more for one than when it was new.
