SPRINGFIELD ARMORY GI OD GREEN 1911 PISTOL
While troops in WWI and WWII were never issued olive drab green 1911's, this Springfield Armory OD Green 1911 looks authentic in that color. The OD green finished is parkerized, meaning that it's going to be much more durable than anodized or oxide finishes.
This 1911 is fitted almost exactly like the G.I. issue pistols of decades ago. It has military-style sights, with a low, thin rear notch sight and a rounded front sight blade. It has a spur hammer, although the tip of the hammer is serrated, where the original G.I. models were smooth on top. The serrated hammer top makes accidentally letting the hammer slip less likely, so it's a good trade-off.
The grip safety is flat, just like the old G.I. models. The trigger is flat, too, and has a pull weight of 5-6 pounds.
The slide serrations are vertical, just like those on the old G.I. models, rather than the angled serrations found on most modern 1911's.
The U.S.-stamped reddish wood grip panels complement the olive drab green finish nicely.
In addition to being great replicas of the old G.I. 1911 pistols, the Springfield Armory G.I. pistols are technologically superior. The olive drab green model uses a forged steel slide and receiver that have tolerances much tighter than pistols from decades ago. The pistols are more dependable. What's more, they come with Springfield Armory's lifetime warranty.

Every Springfield Armory 1911 pistol is equipped with a trigger locking device. A key inserted into a hole in the rear grip strap positively locks the trigger, making it impossible for a child to accidentally discharge the gun. This system gives you a choice as to whether or not you need to lock your gun. Unlike trigger locks on other brands of guns, the keyhole is small, so that it doesn't ruin the looks of the gun.
