SPRINGFIELD ARMORY CUSTOM LOADED CHAMPION 1911 PISTOL

This Springfield Armory Custom Loaded Champion 1911 is an excellent choice for carry, competition or just plinking. Its 4" barrel makes it more compact for carry. The low profile 3 dot tritium combat sights are a tremendous aid when shooting in low light, and the rounded edges on the sights won't get snagged in your clothing.

The pistol has a stainless steel match grade barrel for corrosion resistance, and it delivers a higher degree of accuracy than do standard barrels. The match grade "skeleton" trigger is adjustable for over-travel via a small set screw. The trigger face is ribbed for more positive finger placement.

As with all Loaded 1911 pistols, this one is fitted with an ambidextrous safety, which is helpful for left handed shooters, but also for those competition shooters who have to fire with either hand.

This pistol isn't just mechanically superb, though. It's also a beauty. The rounded slide top, lower frame "hood", trigger guard and front strap are lightly cast-textured for a matte finish, while the flat surfaces of the pistol are polished to a shiney finish, giving the pistol a two-tone look. The reddish-brown Cocobolo grips contrast nicely for a really attractive package.

Every Springfield Armory 1911 pistol is equipped with a trigger locking device. A key inserted into a hole in the rear grip strap positively locks the trigger, making it impossible for a child to accidentally discharge the gun. This system gives you a choice as to whether or not you need to lock your gun. Unlike trigger locks on other brands of guns, the keyhole is small, so that it doesn't ruin the looks of the gun.

"Being a gun of the month type of guy, I have always gone back to the champion mmmmm. I just love the 4inch bbl and looks mine is SS with VZ GATOR grips for off duty, bed side its the best firearm in my stash thank you Springfield."

"I have had my Champion for a couple years now. It is a delight to shoot, and is exceptionally accurate. Take down and reassembly is simple. My gun has digested a little over 2,000 rounds without any issues. It is stripped down/cleaned after every outing. The owners manual does state you should not shoot +P rounds through the Champion, which is not an issue with me, but it might be to others."
