SPRINGFIELD ARMORY M21 TACTICAL RIFLE, ADJUSTABLE WALNUT STOCK
The Springfield Armory M21 rifle
is the tactical version of the company's Super Match rifles. Like
the Super Match, the M21 has a lugged receiver, oversized operating
rod guide, air-gauged national Douglas premium match barrel, and other
Super Match features. This model has a walnut stock with an adjustable
cheekpiece for getting just the right cheek elevation when using a
scope. The M14 rifle has been used in modern military missions as a "Designated Marksman Rifle" (DMR). It's used currently by our forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Springfield Armory M21 is virtually identical to the DMR. The Douglas barrel, like all Super Match and National Match barrels, has been tested for precise barrel diameter using what is called "air gauging". While all barrels are air-gauged, only those that fall within tight tolerances are put on Super Match or National Match rifles. The rear sight on the M21 is National Match grade as well. The precision aperture has a hood around it, both to protect it from damage, and to shield it from light and reflections, giving you a clearer sight picture. If you need a rifle for precision, long distance shooting, whether for competition, hunting or any other purpose, take a good look at the M21. Specifications Caliber: 7.62mm NATO (.308 Win.) The first time you pick up an M1A, you'll be struck by its weight. For those who are used to handling rifles with forged or stamped receivers, the M1A comes as almost a shock. It has a receiver that's investment cast steel. Tolerances between the receiver, bolt, activation rod, and other parts is tight, which is one reason for the M1A's superb accuracy. It's a rifle that will last for decades, and go tens of thousands of rounds without showing signs of wear. Click here to visit Gunshopfinder's Springfield Armory rifle page.
