The Trijicon ACOG TA31RCO-A4CP sight was designed to the specifications of the US Marine Corps. The unique red chevron reticle was designed to give fast target acuisition at close range, but also allow accurate engagement out to 800 meters with the bullet drop compensator in the reticle. (See diagram). The reticle also has horizontal hash-marked lines for centering the target.

The TA31RCO-A4CP was specifically designed for the M16A4 20" barrel rifle. It comes with a TA51 flattop adapter for mounting to rifles with Picatinny or Weaver top rails. The TA31RCO-A4CP ACOG has dual reticle illumination, with fiber optic for daylight and tritium for low light conditions.
