TRIJICON ACOG SIGHTS,
ACOG SCOPES, BEST PRICES ON ACOG SCOPES
SPECIAL COUPON SALE--$140 TO $273 OFF MSRP
Trijicon ACOG ("Advanced
Combat Optical Gunsight") scopes have reticles that are illuminated
by the radioactive substance tritium, which makes the reticles glow.
These glowing (also referred to as "illuminated") reticles
stand out prominently against your target during the day, much more
prominently than standard black reticles. ACOG sights also have extended
eye relief, enabling you to shoulder your rifle and get on target
faster than you could with a conventional scope.
Trijicon designed these scopes
to be used by the military, which means that they have to be able
to withstand extremes of temperature, dust, sand, rain, snow and every
other environment you can imagine. They also have to be able to stand
up to rough treatment, including being shot. There's more than one
soldier whose ACOG sight took a direct hit from enemy fire and kept
on working. That's a testament to the exceptional level of quality
of these scopes.

ACOG sights come with a variety
of mounts, reticles, magnifications, and other features, each suited
for your particular needs or style of shooting.
All ACOG scopes can be attached
to the carry handles of A2 style AR15/M16 rifles. Scopes for flat-top
rifles feature either the TA-51 flat-top adapter or the quick-release
A.R.M.S. mount. You can remove your sight from either of these style
mounts and put it in an AR15/M16 carry handle if you wish.

ACOG Finishes:
Trijicon offers two types of
finishes: the standard black, and the dark earth tone finish found
on the ECOS models. Both are matte finish to avoid reflections. The
dark earth tone finish has a clay-like feel, and can actually be brushed
with your fingers to remove fingerprints.
Extra red dot sights
Some of the ACOG models are equipped
with small red dot sights on top of them, enabling you to engage your
target faster than would be possible with the ACOG reticle, or to
get close to the target quickly and then allow you to aim more precisly
with the ACOG's reticle.
In the past, Trijicon equipped
models such as the TA01ECOS with a Docter Optic 7.0 MOA ("minute of
angle") red dot sight. Beginning in 2010, the Docter Optic sights
were replaced with the 4.0 MOA RMR red dot sights. Many users feel
the smaller dot on the RMR doesn't obscure the target as much as the
Docter Optic 7.0 MOA dot did. In terms of quality, the RMR is every
bit as good as the Docter Optic.
Both the Docter Optic and the
RMR red dot sights require batteries. The ACOG sights themselves,
though, do not require batteries.
Dual-illumination ACOG sights
The TA11, TA31 and other series
of sights feature dual illumination. In addition to having the reticle
illuminated by tritium, these models have a length of fiber optic
cable on top of the unit. This fiber optic gathers daylight and transmits
it to the reticle, making the reticle even brighter, which makes it
easier to see in daylight. Obviously the fiber optic feature costs
more but, if you need to pick up on your target fast, the extra brightness
just may be worth the extra dollars.
Accessories
Trijicon offers a number of accessories
that can be ordered separately, or come as part of a package. One
is the KillFlash, which serves two purposes: it minimizes the reflections
from the front lens, and it minimizes the muzzle flash you see through
the scope at night.
Some of the ACOG sights have
back-up iron sights installed. These iron sights are not available
for order from Trijicon, at least not at this time.
Trijicon offers flip-up lens
covers, but the front covers only work with the KillFlash attachment.
If you're not putting a KillFlash on your scope, Trijicon has a rubber,
"one size fits all" bikini-style lens cover.

visit Trijicon's accessories page here.
ACOG Construction
ACOG scopes are built to withstand
every type of environment that a soldier might find himself in. The
front and rear lens elements are sealed so tightly that the scopes
can be submerged in water to a depth of up to 100 feet. The forged
aircraft aluminum housing makes for a nearly indestructible scope
(just ask those soldiers whose ACOG's took direct hits from enemy
fire). The windage and elevation adjusters are internal, so that they're
protected from rain, snow, dust and other elements.
Trijicon is so confident of the
quality of the ACOG scopes that they come with a lifetime warranty.
